Experience yoga through the perspective of shiatsu - align your knowledge of yoga poses with the flavours of shiatsu energy that support them. Develop your awareness and self-care skill and learn how to care for others in self- and partner-shiatsu.
The union of Indian yoga with Japanese shiatsu can bring benefits of an intuitive approach to yoga with easy feedback through the sensations of energy channels and points, by holding and massaging areas of the body physically and with the mind in meditation.
In this day workshop you will learn about how shiatsu can support your yoga practice and I hope experience the deep links between these two disciplines, to manage and prevent injury and long-term health issues for men and women.
This day workshop is £50 per person.

Red Tent Saturday Gathering
(connecting to the inner mother)
Welcoming women to join us for a day of celebrating the gifts of the Earth as we move into the fullest part of summer, exploring the fullness and richness of what it is to be a woman in today's world...
In the Red Tent Gathering we will be exploring the archetype of the mother, letting ourselves be held and supported by Mother Earth as we sit in circle, honouring the connection with our mothers and grandmothers, however that may be, and most importantly, the reason we come to red tent: mothering ourselves... through the care, compassion and time we give to ourselves. The dark moon is on the 4th July, the sign of Cancer, the element of water which is deeply nourishing for our emotions, and the sign of the crab: snappy, soft and sensitive!
The Red Tent Workshop is for women who are keen to start their own red tent, would like to support others, or would like help and support for their existing red tent and increase their contact with other red tents. We will talk about the guidelines we have used over the last few years at Essex Red Tents, such as deep listening, non-judgment and anchor points. There will be space for sharing what you wish for your own red tent and any difficulties or successes you would like advice for or just to be heard. The format of the workshop will be sitting in circle, so we will practise red tent guidelines as we hold the workshop.
Stay for the whole day or just one part, but we recommend that women attending the afternoon workshop also come in the morning to get the greatest benefit from their workshop.
For the Red Tent Gathering, please bring whatever you find helpful for the circle, chocolate is always a good idea! Something for the altar, a photograph of someone you would like to think of... perhaps you would like to offer an activity, a meditation or exercise you can lead or teach? As we will be there over lunchtime, it can be nice to bring food to share... We ask everyone to bring £5 to cover costs like herbal teas, nibbles, craft materials and flowers to make our Red Tent a charming place to be. Please let us know if you are coming so we can make sure we have enough for everyone :)
The investment for the How to Hold Your Own Red Tent Workshop is £35 which includes a little red tent box of goodies to help start and sustain your red tent. Booking with full payment is required to secure your place.

We look forward to circling with you!
